Books & Company presents A Toast to Wisconsin Beers   Presenting:  Jim Draeger, author of Bottoms Up Paul Bialas, author of Pabst   Author Talks, Signings and Beer Tasting Books & Company   Bottoms Up showcases the architecture and history of 70 Wisconsin breweries and bars. Beginning with inns and saloons, the book explores the rise of breweries, the effects of temperance and Prohibition, and attitudes about gender, ethnicity, and morality. It traces the development of the megabreweries, dominance of the giants, and the emergence of microbreweries.   Pabst is a pictorial presentation of the remaining Milwaukee based Pabst Brewing Company buildings.With photogenic sensitivity,  Paul Bialas has captured, not only in theme, but in spirit the nostalgic presence of these historic building.  Bialas' collection of photos of abandoned buildings on the Pabst Brewery properties are interspersed with anecdotes, conversational tidbits from long time employees and historical trivia, resulting in a coffee table documentary treasure of one of Milwaukee's most defining institutions.
