Join us for an evening of presentations and panel discussion with authors Jim Landwehr, Julie Beekman, and Constance Malloy - each have written a memoir. We’ll talk about writing memoir, what nudged them to write a memoir, what they learned during the process, etc. Whether you're looking to write your own memoir or are just interested in the process of sharing stories, please join us!
Jim Landwehr has two nonfiction books, Dirty Shirt: A Boundary Waters Memoir and The Portland House: A '70s Memoir. Jim also has two poetry collections, Reciting from Memory, and Written Life as well as a forthcoming chapbook, On a Road which releases on 10/21/2018. His non-fiction stories have been published in Main Street Rag, Prairie Rose Publications, Steam Ticket and others. His poetry has been featured in Torrid Literature Journal, Portage Magazine, Blue Heron Review and many others. He loves in Waukesha, Wisconsin with his wife Donna and their two children. He enjoys fishing, kayaking, biking and camping. Jim is poet laureate for the Village of Wales, Wisconsin.
Julie Beekman is an avid runner, hiker and skier and lives in Boulder, Colorado with her dog, Francesca.
Constance Malloy wrote the memoir Tornado Dreams. She is a former bookseller.
